Something Fishy At Airphil

I wanted to avail the promo of Air Philippines yesterday. My friend in the Philippines informed me about this glorious deal. When I got off work, I tried to book and called an agent in the Philippines. This was literally 3 minutes after I talked to my friend who just spoke to an agent and informed her I should call them To avail it because it was still available. To my utter surprise, when I called and the agent learned I was calling from California the price doubled and that it was no longer available. From P2660 it went up to over Php4000. Imagine my shock. I explained to her my friend just got off the phone with an agent telling her I should call to avail it. The agent said "promos change without prior Notice". Now this one will astound you even more. I asked my friend if she could just buy the tickets for me. There was no way the agent will give me the promo price plastered in their website. I could not do it online because I needed assistance to buy it, since it's an international purchase. And so my friend bought the tickets for me. It took a little while because she's a busy woman too. You would think around that time the promo would no longer be available. Guess what the price was? You got it right. She got the promo price. What's up with our kababayans?
