Something Wonderful

The tempestuous marriage of Alexandra Lawrence, an innocent country girl, and Jordan Townsende, the rich and powerful Duke of Hawthorne, is about to face its ultimate test of tender loyalty. Swept into the endlessly fascinating world of London society, free-spirited Alexandra becomes ensnared in a tangled web of jealousy and revenge, stormy pride and overwhelming passion. But behind her husband's cold, arrogant mask, there lives a tender, vital, sensual man...the man Alexandra married. Now, she will fight for his very life...and the rapturous bond they alone can share.

Speedo Women's SuperPro Swimsuit - Blue In Size: 32 (Google Affiliate Ad)I have been wanting to read Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught for the longest time. I was almost tempted to buy it on Amazon. But impatience and saving money prompted me to just read an e-book. I don't know how thick the book was but it was a very easy read for me. I was able to read while frying chicken, hehe.

What made me wanted to finish it the same day was where I read this part of the book.
"You needn't worry about your appearance, my dear, because true beauty springs from the heart and dwells in the eyes."
This made me feel better about myself today.

I usually share part of the story when I write my reviews, since I don't have enough time. I'm here at the doctor's office waiting for my turn. I will just let others share it with you guys. I will just tell you what I liked about it.

Over all I loved the book. I just find Alexandra's character contradicting. She was a wide reader and very intelligent and yet she didn't have a clue how babies were made.

Alexandra?" When she lifted her face inquiringly, he said in a calm, matter-of-fact voice, "Do you know how babies are made?"
The unexpected question jolted a stunned, embarrassed laugh from her at the same time hot color washed over her cheeks. "Do—do we have to discuss this?"
His lips quirked with self-mockery. "Yesterday, I would have said there was no need. An hour ago, I would have said it. Now, I'm afraid we do."
"What made you change your mind?"
It was Jordan's turn to look blank. "Our kissing," he said bluntly, after a pause.
"What has that to do with babies?"
Jordan leaned his head back, closed his eyes, and sighed with exasperated amusement. "Somehow, I knew you were going to say that."

I must say though I like her innocence. But not on that part of the book wherein she seemed ignorant of what husbands and wives do in the privacy of their bedrooms. Also how she longed and expected something wonderful is about to happen every season.

Also,I found similarities on JM's plot. For some reason lagi na Lang may nawawala sa mga characters niya. Hehe. It reminds me of Almost Heaven.

There was apart wherein Jordan discovered how Alex wept for him when he was gone. I had tears on my eyes as I was reading and the servant was telling the story. I was so riveted, as in lumuluha Lang ako while reading.

There's a little suspense or mystery too. At the beginning of The story someone tried to kill Jordan. Towards the end somebody attempted again. So you're reading and wondering.

I liked the ending, how Jordan poured his heart out and threatened to do nasty things if she didn't wake up. Then I laughed when Alexandra responded. You should read it to find out what she said. It was funny to me. Although the ending was hurried or abrupt, it was fine. I would have been disappointed if I didn't know what happened to them after their reconciliation. Questions like, did they have a baby, etc?
As usual, JM did not disappoint me. I love all the books I have read from her.
