Former Boss

I'm trying to go back to the workforce. Because I'm thick faced, two days ago I e-mailed my former boss' boss telling her I want to go back to work. Yes, I had to contact the higher ups and did not go through the normal channel. I figured, I've got nothing to lose, I don't work there anymore. Frankly, I wasn't expecting an answer, first, I quit. Second, it's been months,she must have forgotten about me. And third, there was a doubt she wouldn't care about my plight. And fourth, which should have been first ( I think) I'm embarrassed to contact my former boss. I think I disappointed him by leaving. He has done a lot to help me a great deal, treated me so well. And now I'm trying to go back, but not under him..

Imagine my surprise when I got an email from her (boss' boss) today. And she was genuinely enthused exchanging emails with me. Well, I felt it.. By the way, I'm more surprised, because it's Saturday. You would think bosses are out enjoying with their families. Mine was corresponding with me.

There are still leaders out there who are not total jerks. It's true most employees leave their beloved job, not because the job sucks, but because the boss does. Well, this boss doesn't suck! :)
