All You Need: Authors, Books, Nook, Tea, Friends

Authors on the Bay. A very good friend of mine (Theresa Camargo) bought me tickets for this event. She wouldn't be able to if not for her "gentle" persuasion, well more of a complaint to the organizer
I have only been reading their books and it was so surreal to see them in person. The gloomy weather didn't stop us from meeting them. They were very kind and accommodating. They rock! It's nice to have friends who share the same passion as you.

Did you know, R.K. liked us.. she even mentioned about an after party, that we could have drinks. It's as if she wanted to spend more time with her. She was so nice.
Emma Chase was jet lagged since she came from new jersey. She was kidding about she's stupid at the moment. Because she couldn't spell Theresa. I just said, just like Mother Theresa..
Alice Clayton was so accommodating. She's pretty too, I remember the singer Adelle.. Wallbanger was set in San Francisco, that's why she was excited too. I don't know her bio. She kinda have a different accent, it was sexy.

Tara Sivic was the naughtiest, I wished I read her books before coming.. I didn't say a word because I didn't want to be a hypocrite when I haven't read any of het works, same with K.A.Tucker.. A.L. Jackson.. I just really chose the ones I liked.. over all, it was a fun morning.. chief and I had lunch at Neptune's over looking the wharf.. it was magnificent. You can see Alcatraz from our window. Then we went to Japanese Tea Garden. We had authentic Japanese tea and mochi.. chief said what it was like to have tea in there while reading your favorite book, and being surrounded by flowers.. even though it was raining we didn't lose our spirit.. then my husband joined us and guess what? Said the same thing chief and I were talking about. He really knows us.

On Catcher in the rye

At first he only used to be kidding when he called my stuff bourgeois, and I didn’t give a damn—it was sort of funny, in fact. Then, after a while, you could tell he wasn’t kidding any more. The thing is, it’s really hard to be roommates with people if your suitcases are much better than theirs—if yours are really good ones and theirs aren’t. You think if they’re intelligent and all, the other person, and have a good sense of humor, that they don’t give a damn whose suitcases are better, but they do. They really do.-- this was the YA of the 1950's. I have read over a hundred "goddamn" and "they really do" words in this book. I like how Holden said you have to be in the mood to do something. Because that was exactly how I felt before reading this.. I was not in the mood and all of a sudden I bought this and started reading. I'm glad I started reading this at this stage of my life. I wouldn't have understood it then. For a 17 year old, Holden seemed so mature and independent. I was nothing like him when I was his age.P.S. not done reading yet--JB
