Open Letter To Yohan's Teacher

Mrs ******,

I know I should talk to you personally but because of my work schedule it's not possible.
I was having a conversation with Yohan this morning and I was disturbed with some of the things she told me. She mentioned about how Mc***** would tell her she is "not pretty enough" like them, pertaining to herself and Ann****** (I've never met this kid) . I don't really care about appearances of kids but Yohan also mentioned Mc*****would tell her she doesn't have "a good brain". I don't like my child having a low self esteem because some kids in her school bully her. They're in first grade and shouldn't be thinking about those things much less even uttering those vile words. I ignored Yohan when she said Ann******would "accidentally" step on her paper when it falls down on the school floor. You know the result of bullying in school, I don't want my child driven to suicide because of this. Please do not think I'm overreacting, I'm a mother of an only child. There's  a 9 year old boy in Folsom who did just that. I will appreciate any help you could offer. I asked Yohan if she told those words too to her classmates too. She said no. I told her never to say them, Jesus does not like children say those words. I told you the reason why I transferred Yohan to your school. For her to be a better individual because of the culture there. I was really impressed with your Summer class. Thank you for your time.

Respectfully Yours,
Jonah Belen

  1. I also don't want my kid to grow up a bully. That's why I transferred her to a good school.
