Yohan-isms: My status updates from January 2011 to July 31, 2011 that involve Yohan. I did not realize most of my posts were about her. It's true, people say you can't help but utter what's in your heart and mind.
Potty training for the last 3 days have been surprisingly successful. :) Today is the best day so far, it's 3:54 pm and not once I put her on diapers, I lost count of the #of times she went. I didn't have to ask her. She approaches me. Sweet! Ow no! We just bought 144 pcs of huggies from Costco :( uh ow
My routine changed in almost a year. LY Yohan and I were always at a cupcake shop trying on different flavors. Then we'd stay at the park or my museum. Now,either we're at the bookstore or looking for bubbles or eating a pretzeldog at the mall.I used to carry her when we do the laundry outside, now I let her carry the detergent and coins. I used to have my own sbx frap, now she grabs mine and I end up with nothing.
:Jeff and I were laughing at the facebook page of one of his classmates for a trivia we thought was hilarious. Yohan said "PANI" mommy, "PANi". Hehe. Anak nasan na pagka i-slang mo? Hehe. Naging "p" na ang "f" hehehe.
I'm all in. Exhausted from spending the day at Gilroy Gardens. I realized how brave and independent Yohan is. At a young age I know she's going to have a very strong personality. She's very social,outgoing,and she's very energetic. It's hard to take care of her sometimes because she's an active child. But I prefer these traits of her than a lethargic or timid baby. Thank You for the blessing. I love you Yohan! :)
:Mommy: Yohan what are you doing? Yohan: chakeyt. So I thought she was looking for her jacket, sounds like it. Then Jeff found out what's keeping her busy. She was trying to open a box of toblerone. Then I realized. "chocolate" that what she was saying. hehe. Yohan i-slang ka naman masyado. :)
Yohan's playing pranks on everyone. She would show up her face to people and say "boo!". good thing people found it adorable at the bookstore. then she faked a sneeze. before I could say "bless you" she said "kidding!". hehehe. ow my.
Scene at Borders, Little Boy: Is she a baby? (pointing at Yohan) Jonah: How old are you? Little Boy: 5. Jonah: I guess she's a baby, she's 2 1/2 LB: why is she not little? Jonah: She drinks a lot of milk (btw they're almost d same height) LB: I drink lotsa milk,I'm not big(talking to his mommy) Jonah: I guess you have to drink more LB: I think I'll drink more. (the conversation wa so cute,the boy was sooo cute too)
:I like it when Yohan says "What did you do?" "What happened?" "What's wrong?" She's turning 3 and she has correct grammar ;) I especially love it when she says "you're welcome" when I say "thank you". So far, the best for me? When she says "Bless you" when I sneeze. Or when she fakes a sneeze and says "bless you" :) So I asked Yohan what she was doing (btw she was spraying my hair spray all over my mirror). She said " I'm cleaning". mmmkay. ;)
When Yohan and I stepped out of her sitter's house. She looked around and asked me "Where's our car?". I usually park in front of Mama Do's house, today I parked behind another person's vehicle. She was so cute looking for our car.
:Yohan was asking milk from her father, Jeff said "say please". Yohan obliged "Papa, I want dede (milk), please? RIGHT NOW!!!" I laughed so hard. :) On our way home, Yohan was asking for food. I told her, wait til we get to our house, then I'll give her her food. She said "house, where are you?"
:I saw Yohan spraying 409 on our dinner table glass. I asked her to stop and to never touch that cleaning agent and glass ever. As I was putting away our 409 in the kitchen, she approached me and said "Mama, I want to clean!". Wow! I wish she would say that too when she's a bit older. That will be music to my ears, but for now. NO! ;) So my daughter has come up with an excuse not to take a shower. She blurted out "No! I'm sleepy!". I really thought she likes taking them. Apparently things have changed. She's growing up fast and knows what she likes and doesn't. Today at Walmart she pointed at pringles and juice (kool aid) then asked us to open them right away. ;) Ow, it's just so cute of her on insisting she'd have her seatbelt on before eating.
I wanted to bathe Yohan so I told her let's take a shower "you're stinky". She threw a fit and screamed at me while crying "MAMA I'M NOT STINKY!" mama, i'm not stinky. :I just find it so cute when Yohan says "Ow Man" while she's crying. Can you visualize it? hehehe. Hilarious. ;).
I'm so pleased w/ Yohan's behavior today. Jeff said when Yohan stepped out of our car on her
way to her sitter. She just walked eagerly straight to her house and asked her "How are you?".
Yohan and I were stuck in in our car for about half an hour. She wouldn't put on her seat belt and kept pointing at the pic of a falafel at a greek restaurant. Instead of getting mad I was so patient and succumb to her wishes. We got out of our car and bought greek food. I'm glad we did, since I've been reading novels about greek men it's about time to taste their food too. :) Thanks Yohan!
:Jeff was tickling me, I was laugjing so hard I had to curl up in sofa cuz he wouldn't stop. Yohan probably thought I was hurting, cuz I was saying "stop". The next thing she did surprised me, she threw her body on top of me and covered me as if protecting me from Jeff. she knew she would end up being tickled. I was so shocked. I thought of a song in Ms Saigon "I would give my life for you". *still astounded* ;)
Today: One of my best days. Our dishwasher was in a drying mode & I wanted to conserve energy so I turned it off & just opened it to dry.Yohan saw steam came out of it, she hurriedly took one of the pillows in our chair & started waving it to the steam.Jeff & I did it a long time ago when our smoke alarm went off.Now I know I can rely on Yohan when our alarm goes off again.(hopefully it won't happen again though):) You might think these are easy ones.
Guess what Yohan told me? Ang letter V which has an image of a vest ay naging "jacket" . Oo nga naman mukhang jacket e. Hehe. Ang letter W na may image na whale ay naging simpleng "fish". Naturally ang X na Xray fish ay "fish" lang. Pinahirapan kami ni Dora today. Hay naku. :)
Yohan's shoes fell from her stroller. I was about to get it for her when I heard her " I got et, I got et!" hehehe. Hilarious! I had the most exhilarating experience just seconds ago. I laughed (out loud)because I read something funny about how Manny Pacquiao replied "lolo mong panot" in twitter to someone.
Yohan was sleeping and right after I laughed, she did too, while asleep ;) I thought it was an animated moment. :This may mean nothing to other people but I'd still like to share. So aside from "I don't know, What happened? I want this/dede" Yohan can say " What is this? and Look at this" very clearly now. You know I'm used to her talking to me in "one word" and I have to decipher them like "ayee" for sorry, and "anchu" for thank you. I'm just happy, have a wonderful day! :) :I don't know whether to be excited or not now that Yohan knows how to use our (tv) remote control. That's on top of other things like how turn off my laptop, open our microwave and turn on our lights. And to think my only wish before was for her to turn on her tummy :) I was reading a book I downloaded from Borders and I have not synced it to my Kobo yet. I did not want Yohan to touch my laptop so I told her "mommy's reading Yohan". Then she said "book?". I like how she put two and two together, she also knows my Kobo is an ereader and calls it a book. :)
My goodness! I'm feeling a little better now and all it took was Yohan pulling my hands to jump with her in our bed to the tune of "bounce, bounce up and down" from Fresh Beat Band. She sang "boun boun atatown!" Priceless! Yohan's first day with a sitter, success! She didn't cry :) Made it a lot easier leaving her. She was there for 4 hrs, so I just considered it as play time. Plus my friend's mom was exceptional. She's genuinely nice and thoughtful. I love her Jeff gave Yohan a piece of bread with marmalade. Yohan: xie xie Jeff: you're welcome.. She said thank you in Mandarin. Jeff said Yohan just watched Ni hao kai lan on Nick, the show teaches basic mandarin. :)
Yohan thought this was "apple" and was begging to eat it We may have a nickname for Yohan. Everytime I ask what her name is she says "A-an". She can say Yo-han when I teach her to say it and also slowly. But when asked out of the blue it's "A-an". So there I love you A-an! I didn't want Yohan to eat piyaya because she hasn't had rice yet. She kept on crying reaching for the bag and said "mommy! mommy! pis, pis". That's right. I ended up giving the bag of piyaya just because she said "please". Hay! ;)
The other day Yohan was playing and jumping in our bed also singing to the tune of a song I couldn't remember, but very familiar. So I asked my husband "Yohan was singing jump, jump,jump,jump,jump, what's that song? (I sang it just like how Yohan sang the words jump) Immediately Jeff answered B-I-N-G-O, bingo. He was right. And BINGO was his name o :) Yohan really likes babies. I was browsing pix in facebook using my blackberry, I thought she was asleep. I was looking at baby pix, I just heard her say "Wok, wok, baby!". Translation "Look, look, baby!" hehehehe. Yohan's acting like her dad. She took my blackberry and wrapped it with tissue paper, I was in the bedroom facebooking. Every time she comes near I'd ask her "where's my phone?". On the third time she came near me, she looked like she was hiding something in her back, So I asked again "where's my phone?". Then she showed me what she's been hiding in her back. My phone, she meant to surprise me. Playful kiddo!:) I love it when I kiss Yohan while she's taking a nap. I'd kiss her and she would kiss me back with her eyes closed, naka smile pa and you could hear her "(TSUP" sound. She's half asleep and couldn't open her eyes or get up. So she would just make the "TSUP" sound kissing me back. it is soo obvious she likes the soup! =)
I am so happy, I was able to eat uninterrupted. Yohan just ate by herself Yohan ate 1 huge banana. I just finished typing my status in fb and I heard her say "MOY, MOY,". It took a few seconds before I understood. A, she wanted MORE. Sa mga di familiar, ang saging na nabibili dito sa Amerika ay 8 inches ang haba. She had 1 1/2. ;) And that's after eating seedless green grapes and mixed vegetables. I'm happy di pa sya nagmi milk since I got home. I really need to take a shower so I can get to work. But Yohan's arms are all over me! She wants to take a nap and I can't move :( Her embrace is ow so tight. I think I need to be thankful I have a baby that loves me so much :) ay hindi nakatulog ng maayos, Jeff had to go to Seaside at 3:30 in the morning to buy orajel (numbing gel) for Yohan. Kaya pala nilagnat, diarrhea and may toyo, tinutubuan ng ngipin. Ako nmn kanda lagay sa taas ng ngipin ng orajel,isip ko,"why umiiyak pa rin"?. I just figured it out @8am, BAGANG (molar tooth)pala tumutubo.Toinks! Wrong! puro eyebags tuloy ako later sa work :(Yohan,sana gumaling ka na. Mana ata si Yohan sa akin, may lagnat sya ng mga nakalipas na araw. I had to pick up something sa Macy's (mall), nawala lagnat! Sumigla agad. hehehehe. Wow! This "Time Out" thing really works. We just started doing it last week. When Yohan is not behaving properly we put her on time out, I put her in her little chair. She doesn't leave the place until I tell her to do so. Then she would be extra sweet and kiss me after. If she does it again I threaten her that I'd put her on time out, she'd say "no!" and stops. Well, sometimes ;) Baby steps! I'm so happy! Try it!
I gave Yohan a little piece of truffle (thanks Shey!) and I asked "you want more?" She said "yeah" , ok you ask papa. She looked at me and to our bedroom door and yelled "MOM!". Yohan called papa "mom". I guess she spends so much with her mommy. :) I've been looking for my ipod since Sunday, it's Friday now. I finally found it and jumped for joy. So I said "Look! Yohan! I found my ipod!" She said "COOL!". She's so cute! I didn't expect her to say that in that situation. We were out and Yohan won't stop crying cuz she wanted to get an equipment from a shop. So we stormed out of the place and decided to go to a cafe. Yohan stopped crying and pointed at the sky "moon, moon". The moon tonight saved me :) It's study time for me and Yohan, I suddenly asked "Where is Boots?" she said "I don't know". Then she grabbed her pillow with a dora picture, flipped it and showed me a picture of Boots. Hilarious! Yohan broke my hula hoop. So I asked "ayayay! What happened?". Yohan studying the hula hoop "I non't know" . hehe. take note of the "n". I like how she can form a sentence now. I've been waiting. She's 2 years and 4 months :) Lana was so talkative and inquisitive when was just 18 months. :).
:I was crying while watching "Heart if Dixie", Yohan touched my face and kept saying "it's ok, it's ok". I didn't stop. So she handed me the remote as if saying "change the channel since you keep on crying". hehe. funny gesture ;)
: I got a hello kitty t-shirt for Yohan. I have one too! I think it's cute if we wear matching outfits. We'll probably wear it next week. Can't wait! I'll throw in a hello kitty back pack Tere gave her too. Nice. It's an amazing feeling when you discover something new from your child that you know you didn't teach her. katulad kanina, Yohan grabbed her spongebob blankie, wore it as a cape and ran yelling "I am Superman!". You got that right! My questions were, "where did she learn that? who taught her that?" amazing isn't it? :) *i know, I know, little things, big deal na naman sa akin dahil nanay.* Yohan has a giraffe shirt, out of the blue I asked her "Where is the giraffe?" She pointed at her sleepwear and then noticed it was Dora. "That's not a giraffe" I said. She hurriedly went to our bedroom and took out her dirty giraffe shirt from the hamper and threw it at my face. hehe She screamed"Giraffe!" Ouch! ;) Ayan nga naman ang giraffe, lesson learned,wag ng maghanap ng wala naman,baka iitsa uli sa mukha ko:) Yohan was coughing and I saw something in her nostril. So I said "wait, wait, let me get your booger". After I took it out, my sweet daughter said "Thank you mama" na para bang life and death situation ang nangyari kanina lang. :) Hay, life being a mommy. So fulfilling kahit sa pagtanggal lang ng booger ng anak. parang big deal. hehehe. Masakit man, I had to leave Yohan to her bbsitter yesterday. Sobrang bait ng sitter, inalagaan nya si Yohan, isinama pa sa restaurant, ang dami siguro nakain ni Yohan so she threw up, pinaltan sya ng damit, pinahiram pa ng shorts. Touched talaga ako, ang ayos ayos nya, naka pony pa. Imagine hindi hinayaan na nakalabas ang diaper nya, talagang pinag shorts sya. Kung sa akin, ok na yung dress nya. :).
It's a sunny day! Yohan wanted to go to the patio. She sort of forgot that we have a big glass door/window leading to it. She just walked straight to it and bumped her head. I just heard "ouwie!". It was a funny moment. How could she forget there's a glass there? hehehe. I recorded "Enchanted" believe it or not it's hubby's favorite Disney movie. You know how they show Cinderella's castle in all their movies? Yohan's used to watching Tangled, immediately after seeing the castle, she hugged me and said "mommy, thank u, thank u". She thought we'll be watching Tangled. So now,she's still wondering, "hmmm what am I watching?". :) Good sign though, her eyes were still glued to the telly. We're here at Target, sitting sa table na may bread crumbs na natira. Yohan said "oh oh, wipes, wipes!" Talaga naman, nakapagpunas pa tuloy ako ng mesa, :) Ay naku ang aking dalaga! Sabi "Mama I want" So I asked, "What do you want?" Sabay turo at dama sa lips nya at nakatingin sa labi ko. hehe. Gusto rin nya ng lipstick ni mommy ;)
Yohan's hilarious, you know know those Disney inflatable set? I just saw her trying to blow some air into it. hehehe. na-flat na kasi at kanina nya pa pinapahipan sa akin. E ayoko, e di sya na nga lang naman. hehehe ;) First time ko iniwan si Yohan sa sitter for 8 hrs today. I thought she'd cry after I said "bye, see you later". Sabi ba naman "BYE!" hehe. may maliit na baby kasi dun na makakalaro sya. Aga namin gumising kanina. Umiyak nga si Yohan sa bahay, tumahan lang when I said " Do you wanna see babies? Do you wanna play with the babies?" 3 1/2 hrs to go :) Have a nice day! Have you seen Arthur? Yung movie ni Russel Brand? Yohan wanted 2 watch Little Einsteins in her portable dvd player,I told her "Yohan, you can't,there's no battery".I must've left its battery in our car. She left, my husband jst noticed Yohan took out the batteries from our tv's remote control and was trying to make them fit in her dvd player.She hurriedly went 2 my husband & said "Papa, battery!" hehehe.batteries nga naman yung nakalagay dun. Di nga lang match! :) Ayayay!
We were at a Thai restaurant and Yohan was picking her nose, so we gave her THE LOOK. She looked at us then tumungo as if nahihiya sya. hehehe. Then noong tapos na, she pointed her index finger to her papa and laughed. ;) Thank goodness we she was facing us and no one saw her but us. Yohan watched Tangled for the fourth time today. ayayay! This morning she said "Papa, tangled please?" Well, more like "papa, ungo pis?" ;)
