Acheron

How can a beautiful, loving, caring, kind and gentle soul be so unloved?
I hate the first part of the book wherein Sherilyn Kenyon was developing Acheron's character. There was so much suffering, hatred, misery. I've come to abhor the image of sex on my mind or maybe just an aversion, hate is too strong a word. I won't go into to details why I felt that way. It's so lurid and dangerously explicit. You have to discover it for yourselves. Reading Acheron's story made me remember the movie Man In The Iron Mask. How can two people that look the same be so different from one another?
I wanted to stop reading when his abuse was so vivid, I can almost taste it. Alam mo Yung sa sobrang awa mo natuyo na ang luha mo. I felt sorry for Ash , all his life he craved for a loving touch, one that's not hurting like his uncle's or selfish like Artemis'.
I like what the turn of events in part 2. In there he met Tory. She showed him love without asking for anything in return. She didn't make him feel worthless and never did she bring up the topic him being a whore a long time ago. As if it never happened. I like the girl fight between Tory and Artemis. The way she fought for Acheron. She would do everything for him.

I like how Apollymi interfered with Tory's love life. That's why every time someone would try to climb up to bed with her. They end up being hurt or something silly would happen. Apollymi was saving Tory for Ash.
The only I didn't like about the book was part one was too darn long. I was depressed for 3 days. The author could have shortened his agony. But no! She had to write those vivid disgusting way Acheron was treated as a whore. The book could have been shorter. Just saying. Although if you want to read something really intense and you don't mind the drama, torture, even sadistic to a point, sex, corny lines from Artemis. How can you be a goddess and lived a thousand years and still not know about idioms and grammars? I must say, some lines made me laugh. Hehehe. And ow I forgot to mention Acheron was so handsome. His description was beyond imagination, he was cursed. Everyone wanted him. When someone looks in his silvery eyes it's like they were drawn into him and wanted to be with him and lust after him. You'll find out why he was like that as a human. It's another story when he turned into a god. It's far from the normal alpha rich males we read. Who could be better? A god perhaps? Then this is not a bad read. Although Ash was a contradiction, he's mysterious, lived in a small place and yet he drove a nice bike and Porsche. Hehe. Better than an Italian billionaire? I think so, it's because he can teleport too :) try to read it and let me know what you think. -jonah
